Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the console active antenna.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 20 ohms of resistance between the low reference circuit terminal 5 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the RCDLR.
- Ignition ON, test for B+ between the supply voltage circuit terminal 2 and ground while commanding the scan tool Active Antenna output control ON.
- If not the specified value, test the supply voltage circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the RCDLR.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the RCDLR.
- Ignition ON, verify a test lamp does not illuminate between the following circuits and ground:
- Signal circuit terminal B
- Signal circuit terminal C
- If the test lamp illuminates, test the appropriate signal circuit for a short to voltage.
- Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between the following circuits and ground:
- Signal circuit terminal B
- Signal circuit terminal C
- If less than the specified value, test the appropriate signal circuit for a short to ground.
- Test for less than 2 ohms of resistance between the following signal circuits:
- Terminal B at the RCDLR and terminal 3 at the console active antenna
- Terminal C at the RCDLR and terminal 4 at the console active antenna
- If greater than the specified range, test the appropriate signal circuit for an open/high resistance.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the console active antenna.
