Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the inside rearview mirror.
  2. Ignition ON, test for 9.5-10.5 V between the signal circuit terminal 10 and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the circuit for a short to ground, shorted together, or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the vehicle communication interface module.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the vehicle communication interface module.
  3. Test for 9.5-10.5 V between the signal circuit terminal 10 and the low reference circuit terminal 2.
    • If less than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for a short to ground, shorted together, or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the vehicle communication interface module.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the vehicle communication interface module.
  4. If all circuit test normal, replace the inside rearview mirror.
