Learn Procedure
- Apply parking brake. Place the ignition switch in the proper position:
- With electronic keyless ignition, place the switch in the ACCY position
- With standard ignition, place the switch in the RUN position
- Use the appropriate of these 3 methods to enable Learn mode:
- Simultaneously press the keyless entry transmitter's lock and unlock buttons until a single horn chirp (2005-06) sounds, or until a double horn chirp (2007-11) sounds, indicating the Learn mode has been enabled.
- 2005-06: Use the scan tool and select Special Functions/Sensor Learn Mode Enable/Enable soft key (DTS), or select Module Setup, Remote Control Door Lock Receiver, TPM Learn Mode, and then the Enable soft key (STS). A horn chirp will sound indicating the mode has been enabled.
- 2007-11: Using a scan tool, initiate the TPM Learn Mode. A double horn chirp will sound indicating the Learn Mode has been enabled.
- Use appropriate sensor activation method:
- Using TPM Sensor Activation Tool (J-46079): Starting with the Left Front tire, hold the antenna of the J-46079 aimed upward against the tire sidewall close to the wheel rim at the valve stem location. Press and release the activate button and wait for a horn chirp. After the horn chirp has sounded, repeat procedure for the remaining 3 sensors in the following order: Right Front, Right Rear, Left Rear.
- Tire Pressure Inflation Method: (2005-06) Starting with Left Front tire, increase or decrease the pressure for 5-8 seconds, or until a horn chirp sounds. The horn chirp may occur before the 5-8 second pressure increase/decrease time period has been reached, or up to 30 seconds after the 5-8 second pressure increase/decrease time period has been reached. After the horn chirp has sounded, repeat procedure for the remaining 3 sensors in the following order: Right Front, Right Rear, Left Rear.
- After Left Rear sensor has been learned, a double horn chirp will sound, indicating all 4 sensor IDs have been learned. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Adjust all tire pressures to specification.
