Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 GMC Sierra and 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the yaw rate sensor/lateral accelerometer and the steering wheel position sensor connectors.
- Ignition ON, measure for 4.8-5.2 volts at SAS sensor 5-volt reference circuit or battery positive reference at the yaw rate sensor and ground.
- If over 5.2 volts, test each 5-volt reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuits tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- If the SAS sensor is under 4.8 volts, test each 5-volt reference circuit for short to ground. If the circuits tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- If the SAS sensor over 5.2 volts, test each 5-volt reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuits tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- If the yaw rate sensor is under battery positive voltage, test each 12-volt reference circuit for short to ground. If the circuits tests normal, replace the EBCM.
