Circuit/System Testing

- Ignition ON, inspect for ECM DTC P0606, ECM DTC P0A1D, or any U-code communication DTCs.
- If the specified DTCs are set, repair them first. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the ECM connector X3 and the PIM connector X1.
- Test for less than 1 ohm resistance on the GMLAN serial data circuits between the ECM and the PIM.
- If greater than the specified range, repair the GMLAN serial data circuit for an open/high resistance condition.
- If within the specified range, inspect the ECM and PIM connectors for proper terminal contact. Repair as necessary.
- Ensure the ECM contains the latest software version. Program as necessary.
- Ignition ON, inspect for ECM DTC P0606 or any U-code communication DTCs.
- If the specified DTCs are set, repair them first. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
- If only P06AF has reset, replace the ECM and continue with diagnosis.
- Ensure the PIM contains the latest software version. Program as necessary.
- Ignition ON, inspect for ECM DTC P0606 or any U-code communication DTCs.
- If the specified DTCs are set, repair them first. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
- If only P06AF has reset, replace the PIM.
