Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 GMC Sierra, 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2009 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the module that set the DTC.
- Ignition OFF and scan tool disconnected, open and close the drivers door, and wait 1 minute. Test for less than 5 Ω between the ground circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Terminal 11 (JH6/JH7 EBCM)
- Terminal 28 (JF3/JF7 EBCM)
- Terminal 38 (JL4 EBCM)
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Terminal 1 (JH6/JH7 EBCM)
- Terminal 25 (JF3/JF7/JL4 EBCM)
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the EBCM.
