Inflatable Restraint Passenger Presence System Scan Tool Information

Passenger Presence System Scan Tool Data Parameters

Parameter Expected Value Definition
Operating Conditions:  Ignition ON
Battery Voltage Varies This displays volts. This is the voltage input supplied to the passenger presence system.
Passenger Classification Empty The scan tool displays Unknown, Calibrating, Empty Seat, Small 1, Small 2, Large or Preload. This is the state of the passenger seat, as monitored by the passenger presence system.
Passenger Status No Info The scan tool displays No Info., Valid, Invalid Class., Invalid Pos., Invalid Data or Inval. Class & Pos.
Power Mode Run The scan tool displays Off, Accessory, Run or Crank Request. This is the state of the ignition switch.
PPS Enable Status Enabled The scan tool displays Disabled or Enabled. This is the status of the PPS Enable.
PPS Fault Status No Fault The scan tool displays No Fault, Plant Mode, Fault, Mismatch or Barrier. This is the status of the PPS Fault monitor.
Pressure Sensor Varies This displays volts. This monitors the pressure.
SDM Enable Status Enabled The scan tool displays Enabled or Disabled. This is the state of the SDM.
Seat Belt Tension Sensor Varies This displays volts. This monitors the tension of the seat belt.

Re-Zero Passenger Presence System The passenger presence system (PPS) is a calibrated system that requires rezeroing anytime the seat cushion trim attachments have been removed or the PPS has been replaced.
