Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the starter/generator control module (SGCM) cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System - Starter/Generator Control Module .
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 5.3L.
  3. Remove the push pin from the right side radiator air baffle.
  4. Remove the bolts (2) from the SGCM coolant pump (1).
  5. Reposition the SGCM coolant pump (1) from the radiator core support (3).

  7. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the SGCM coolant pump (2).

  9. Reposition the SGCM coolant pump outlet hose clamp (2) from the SGCM coolant pump (1).
  10. Remove the SGCM coolant pump outlet hose (3) from the SGCM coolant pump (1).

  12. Reposition the SGCM coolant pump inlet hose clamp (1) from the SGCM coolant pump (2).
  13. Remove the SGCM coolant pump inlet hose (4) from the SGCM coolant pump (2).
