Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2007 GMC Yukon XL, 2007 GMC Yukon, 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2007 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- If the DTC is history, refer to Charging System Test .
- If the DTC is current, turn ON the ignition, and with a DMM, measure the voltage between the battery positive voltage circuits of the BCM and the ground circuits of the BCM.
- If the voltage is within 9.5-15 volts, replace the BCM.
- If the voltage is not within 9.5-15 volts, measure the voltage between the battery positive voltage circuits of the BCM and a separate ground.
- If the voltage is within 9.5-15 volts, test the battery positive and ground circuits of the BCM for high resistance or an open, and repair as necessary.
- If the voltage differs by more than 2 volts, repair the circuit as necessary.
