Circuit/System Testing

B3606 01 and B3606 06

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the M16 adjustable pedal assembly.
  2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 10 Ω between the low reference circuit terminal 4 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K40 memory seat control module.
  3. Ignition ON, test for 4.8-5.2 V between the 5 V reference circuit terminal 6 and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the 5 V reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K40 memory seat control module.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the 5 V reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K40 memory seat control module.
  4. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool Adjustable Pedals Horizontal Position parameter is less than 0.45 V.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit terminal 5 for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K40 memory seat control module.
  5. Install a 3 A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal 5 and the 5 V reference circuit terminal 6. Verify the scan tool Adjustable Pedals Horizontal Position parameter is greater than 4.75 V.
    • If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K40 memory seat control module.
  6. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the M16 adjustable pedal assembly.

B3606 61

  1. Ignition ON, verify that no other adjustable pedal DTCs are set.
    • If other adjustable pedal DTCs are set, diagnosis those DTCs first.
  2. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at M16 adjustable pedal assembly.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the motor control circuit terminal 2 and terminal 3.
  4. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates while commanding the adjustable pedals to move in both directions with the scan tool.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the motor control circuits for an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal replace the K40 memory seat control module.
  5. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the M16 adjustable pedal assembly.
