Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Cadillac SRX. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition ON, verify that DTC C0710 42 or C0710 5A is not present.
- If either DTC is present, perform the Steering Angle Sensor Centering .
- Inspect the B99 Steering Wheel Angle Sensor for correct installation.
- If loose or incorrect installation is diagnosed, correct the installation of the component.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B99 Steering Wheel Angle Sensor.
- Test for less than 5 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 6 and ground.
- If greater than the specified value, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, test for greater than 11 V between the 12 V reference circuit terminal 5 and ground.
- If less than the specified range, test the 12 V reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K17 Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM).
- If all circuits test normal, replace the B99 Steering Wheel Angle Sensor and verify the DTC does not reset.
- If the DTC resets, replace the module that set the DTC.
