Circuit/System Testing

- Ignition ON.
- Verify all S70R Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Right functions operate properly.
- If any S70R Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Right function does not operate properly
Replace S70R Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Right.
- If all S70R Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Right functions operate properly
- If any S70R Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Right function does not operate properly
- Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S70L Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Left, ignition ON.
- Test for less than 1V between the following signal circuits and ground
- Voice - Terminal 1
- Mute - Terminal 3
- If 1 volt or greater
Repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 volt
- Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S70R Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Right.
- Test for infinite resistance between the following signal circuit terminals and ground.
- Voice - Terminal 1
- Mute - Terminal 3
- If less than infinite resistance
Repair the short to ground on the circuit
- If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 2 Ω between the following signal circuit terminals
- S70R Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Right signal circuit terminal 1 and S70L Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Left signal circuit terminal 1
- S70R Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Right signal circuit terminal 3 and S70L Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Left signal circuit terminal 3
- If 2 Ω or greater
Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω
- Replace the S70L Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Left.
