Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, and all vehicles systems OFF. Disconnect the harness connector at the S2R Transmission Manual Shift -Right. It may take up to 2 min. for all vehicle systems to power down.
- Test for less than 5 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If 5 Ω or greater
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the ground circuit end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the wire circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, repair the open/high resistance in the ground connection.
- If less than 5 Ω
- Ignition On.
- Test for 11.6-12.4 V between the signal circuit terminal 1 and ground.
- If not between 11.6-12.4 V
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 connector at the K9 Body Control Module.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground in the signal circuit.
- If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit end to end.
- If greater than 2 Ω, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
- If between 11.6-12.4 V
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S2L Transmission Shift Switch - Left.
- Test for less than 2 Ω between terminal 2 on the S2L Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Left harness connector and terminal 3 on the S2R Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Right harness connector.
- If 2 Ω or greater
Repair the open/high resistance in the signal circuit between the S2L Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Left and the S2R Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Right.
- If less than 2 Ω
- If 2 Ω or greater
- Test for less than 5 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 1 and ground on the S2L Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Left.
- Perform the Component Testing.
