Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    If reusing spark plugs, do NOT attempt to check gap. Plugs come pre-gapped.

  1. If reusing spark plugs, refer to Spark Plug Inspection .
  2. Hand start the spark plugs in the corresponding cylinders.
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Tighten the spark plugs.
    • For cylinder head-new: Tighten the spark plugs to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
    • For cylinder head-all subsequent installations: Tighten the spark plugs to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
  4. Install the spark plug wires. Refer to Spark Plug Wire Replacement .
  5. Install the Intake manifold front cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front .
