Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Battery Positive Cable, Retainers & Pass Through Grommet

  1. Install the engine compartment battery positive cable through the pass through opening and install the battery positive cable grommet (1).
  2. Attach the battery positive cable retainers (3) to the body harness.

  4. Install the battery positive cable (1) to the body harness with the retainers (2).

  6. Install the battery positive cable (2), to the radiator surge tank, with the retainer (1).

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  8. Attach the following to the pre-fuse block:
    • Starter Solenoid Cable (4).
    • Battery Positive Barrel Fastener (3). Tighten to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
    • Pre-Fuse Block Cover (2).
    • Battery Jumper Post Cover (1).
  9. Position the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LF4, LGX)Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LTG) .
  10. Position the brake pressure modulator valve. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement .
  11. Install the plenum front panel. Refer to Plenum Front Panel Replacement .
  12. Install the body control module. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement .

  14. Attach the battery positive cable (2) to the right side passenger compartment with the retainers (1).

  16. Position the battery positive cable (2) along the rear seat area with the retainers (1).

  18. Install the battery positive cable (2) into the conduit (1) near the left rear door area.
  19. Position the front and rear carpet back into position.
  20. Install the right side instrument panel lower trim panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator Replacement (Right Side) .
  21. Install the front side door sill trim plate. Refer to Front Side Door Sill Trim Plate Replacement (Sedan)Front Side Door Sill Trim Plate Replacement (Coupe) .
  22. Install the rear side door sill garnish molding left and right. Refer to Rear Side Door Sill Garnish Molding Replacement .
  23. Install the rear seat back cushion, if equipped with AM9. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Removal and Installation (Sedan)Rear Seat Cushion Removal and Installation (Coupe) .
  24. Install the rear seat back bolster, if equipped with AM9. Refer to Rear Seat Back Bolster Replacement (Sedan)Rear Seat Back Bolster Replacement (Coupe) .
  25. Install the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
  26. Install the passenger seat. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Removal and Installation .

  28. Install the battery positive cable (2) along the left rear compartment area with the retainers (1).

  30. Install the battery positive cable terminal (7) to the battery fuse block (2) and tighten the fastener (1) to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
  31. Install the battery fuse block cover.
  32. Attach the battery positive cable retainer (6) to the battery hold down bracket.
  33. Attach the battery positive cable retainers (5) and connect the battery current sensor connector (3).
  34. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  35. Install the left side rear compartment trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side (Sedan with AM9)Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side (Sedan except AM9)Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side (Coupe) .
