Circuit/System Description
The drive motor 1 position sensor has 2 internal hall-effect type sensors and two signal-processing channels and is capable of sensing both speed and direction. The drive motor 1 position sensor is internal to the transmission.
The drive motor 1 position sensor receives 8.2 V on the supply voltage circuit from the hybrid control module 1. As the rotor rotates, the sensor produces a signal pulse based on the machined surface of the rotor. The electronics in the sensor combine the two channels and send a signal with a different pulse width. Motor direction and speed can be calculated by determining the order and frequency of the pulses.
The drive motor 1 position sensor is monitored by the motor 1 control module. The motor 1 control module is part of the T6 power inverter module and is not serviced separately. The drive motor 1 position sensor is part of the drive motor assembly and is not serviced separately.
