Tilt Motor Malfunction

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the K99 Steering Column Position Control Module, ignition ON.
  2. Test for less than 1 V between each K99 Steering Column Position Control Module harness connector terminals listed below and ground.
    • Steering Column Tilt Motor Down Control - terminal 9
    • Steering Column Tilt Motor Up Control - terminal 10
    • Steering Column Tilt Motor Signal - terminal 3
    • If 1 V or greater 

      Repair the short to voltage on the circuit.

    • If less than 1 V 
  3. Ignition OFF.
  4. Test for infinite resistance between each K99 Steering Column Position Control Module harness connector terminals listed below and ground.
    • Steering Column Tilt Motor Down Control - terminal 9
    • Steering Column Tilt Motor Up Control - terminal 10
    • Steering Column Tilt Motor Signal - terminal 3
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Repair the short to ground on the circuit.

    • If Infinite resistance 
  5. Replace the M68 Steering Column Tilt Motor.
