Circuit/System Description

The stop/start capacitor control module is designed to provide voltage support during engine restarts by switching in the stop/start capacitor. The module controls switching of the stop/start capacitor through internal power switches. The stop/start capacitor contains a temperature sensor which sends temperature data to the stop/start capacitor control module through a signal circuit. Another signal circuit on the stop/start capacitor control module is used to detect the capacitor middle point line voltage. The module can diagnose internal and interface faults, and communicates to the ECM.
