Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (without KL9) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (with KL9) .
- Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (LF3) .
- Remove the drivetrain and front suspension frame. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Removal and Installation .
- Remove the turbocharger coolant return pipe - bank 1. Refer to Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe Replacement (LF3 - Bank 2)Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe Replacement (LF3 - Bank 1) .
- Disconnect the engine harness connector (4) and remove the B + generator protective cap (1).
- Remove the fastener (2) and the engine harness battery positive terminal (3), from the back of the generator.
- Remove the generator mounting fasteners (1) and remove the generator (2) from the engine compartment.
