Calibration Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Cadillac CTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: To complete the battery sensor module calibration, there must be no significant parasitic electrical drain on the battery. If the parasitic electrical drain does not remain below 100 mA for a 10 minute period during vehicle rest, the calibration will not be completed successfully. Refer to Battery Electrical Drain/Parasitic Load Test  to correct any parasitic electrical drains.
NOTE: If not diagnosing a Stop/Start concern and the negative battery cable was disconnected and reconnected, this procedure is not required. Inform the customer that the Stop/Start feature will not be available until the vehicle is allowed to sit for at least 3 hours undisturbed.
  1. Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF. It may take up to 2 min for all vehicle systems to power down.
  2. Let the vehicle rest for a minimum of 3 hours without any interruptions (e.g. opening vehicle door, operating vehicle components, using fob buttons etc.).
  3. Engine CRANK.
