Disabling Procedure - Pedestrian Impact Detection System (PIDS) Fuse

  1. Place the ignition in the OFF position.
  2. Locate and remove the fuse supplying power to the PIDS. Refer to Object Detection Schematics or Electrical Center Identification Views . With all PIDS fuses removed and the ignition switch in the ON position, the PIDS warning indicator illuminates. This is normal operation and does not indicate a PIDS system malfunction.
  3. Wait 1 minute before working on the system.
