Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly And Fasteners (With Tightening Sequence)

  1. Position the fuel injection fuel rail assembly (2) into the cylinder head as evenly as possible.
    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    NOTE:

    The final pass should be performed in the sequence shown in the graphic.

  2. To install the fuel injection fuel rail bolts (1), perform the following steps:
    1. First Pass: Start ALL bolts by hand, but do NOT tighten.
    2. Second Pass: Tighten the outer two bolts by hand.
    3. Third Pass: Tighten the inner two bolts by hand.
    4. Final Pass: 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
  3. Install NEW Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe. Refer to Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement

  4. Connect Electrical Connector (1) @ Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Wiring Harness (2)
  5. Inspect for leaks using the following procedure:
    1. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
  6. Install Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield Replacement
