Installation Procedure

  1. Install the generator (6) into position and loosely tighten the mounting fastener (3).
    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  2. Install the mounting stud (4) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in)
  3. Install the idler pulley (2) and tighten the mounting fastener (1) to 58 N.m (43 lb ft)
  4. Install the mounting fastener (5) and tighten to 58 N.m (43 lb ft)
  5. Add the engine support D-ring to the generator mounting bolt (3) and loosely tighten.

  6. Remove the support hook and D-ring from the center hole of the engine mount bracket.
  7. Install the right engine mount bracket. Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Right Side
  8. Install the right side engine mount. Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side (LF3)
  9. Remove the engine support fixture. Engine Support Fixture (LF3)

  10. Attach the engine harness retainer (2) and connect the engine harness connector (1) to the generator.

  11. Install the battery positive cable terminal (2) to the B + stud (1) and tighten the fastener (3) to 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
  12. Install the protective terminal cap (4).

  13. Tighten the mounting fastener (3) to 58 N.m (43 lb ft)
  14. Install the drive belt. Drive Belt Replacement
  15. Install the radiator inlet hose. Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LF3)
  16. Install the power steering fluid reservoir. Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (LF3)
  17. Install the air cleaner assembly. Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (LF3)
  18. Install the intake manifold cover. Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LF3)
  19. Install the right front compartment air deflector. Front Compartment Air Deflector Replacement (Right)Front Compartment Air Deflector Replacement (Left)
  20. Install the front compartment front sight shield. Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Replacement
  21. Connect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
