Removal Procedure

  1. Extend the steering column to the fully telescoped position.
  2. With the vehicle off, place the ignition system in the ACC/ACCESSORY mode.

    Use a flat bladed plastic trim tool to separate the instrument panel steering column opening closeout (1) from the steering column upper trim cover.

    NOTE:
    • Before the steering column upper trim cover can be removed from the vehicle, the driver monitoring system camera MUST be removed from the upper trim cover.
    • It is NOT necessary to remove the steering wheel. The steering wheel is shown removed for clarity only.

    Gently pull the steering column upper trim cover (1) upwards on each side to disengage the cover from the steering column lower trim cover.

  5. Perform the following steps to separate the driver monitoring system camera (2) from the steering column upper trim cover:
    1. Remove the camera wiring harness from the plastic guide at the rear of the upper trim cover.
    2. Release the retaining tabs on the upper trim cover.
    3. Leave the camera sitting on top of the steering column.
  6. Remove the steering column upper trim cover (1) from the steering column.
