Circuit/System Verification
- Verify no DTCs are set.
- If any DTCs are set
Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
- Go to next step: If no DTCs are set
- If any DTCs are set
- Ignition ON.
- Verify the scan tool Stop/Start Select Switch parameter changes between Active and Inactive when pressing and releasing the Stop/Start switch.
- If the parameter does not change
Refer to Circuit/System Testing - S48C Switch Circuit Malfunction
- Go to next step: If the parameter changes
- If the parameter does not change
- Verify the Stop/Start switch indicator turns ON and OFF when pressing and releasing the Stop/Start switch.
- If the Stop/Start switch indicator does not turn ON and OFF
Refer to Circuit/System Testing - S48C Switch Indicator Circuit Malfunction
- Go to next step: If the Stop/Start indicator turns ON and OFF
- If the Stop/Start switch indicator does not turn ON and OFF
- Verify the scan tool parameter:
- Battery Sensor Module Battery State Information parameter reads Available.
- Battery Sensor Module Reset Occurred - Using Estimated State of Charge reads No.
- If not the specified value
- Refer to Battery Sensor Module Learn
- Test drive the vehicle. Verify the Stop/Start System is functioning correctly.
- if a condition exists
- Go to next step: If No Conditions exists
- All OK.
- Go to next step: If the Specified Value
- Test for greater than 12 V between the battery positive terminal and negative terminal.
- If 12 V or less
Refer to Battery Inspection/Test .
- Go to next step: If greater than 12 V
- If 12 V or less
- Test drive the vehicle.
Verify the Stop/Start System is functioning correctly.
- If the vehicle does not autostop or autostart
- Observe the scan tool Autostop Disable Reason, Autostop Inhibit Reason, Autostart Inhibit, and Autostart Reason parameters while operating the vehicle under the conditions for entering a start/stop event. Refer to Stop/Start Disable, Inhibit, and Restart Reasons . These parameters will identify the specific cause for the autostop or autostart disable.
- Go to next step: If the vehicle autostops and autostarts
- Verify the infotainment system remains active during a start/stop event.
- If the infotainment system turns off or restarts during a start/stop event.
Refer to Circuit/System Testing - Power Supply Transformer Circuit Malfunction
- Go to next step: If the infotainment system remains active during a start/stop event
- If the infotainment system turns off or restarts during a start/stop event.
- All OK.
