Installation Procedure

Position the intermediate steering shaft (1) in the vehicle.

Intermediate Steering Shaft (2) @Steering Gear - Install
Prepare the bolts for installation as follows:
1. Remove all traces of the adhesive patch from the bolts and the mating threads using the appropriate tools.
2. Clean the threads of the bolts and mating threads with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.
3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the bolts. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the bolt.

CAUTION:

Intermediate Steering Shaft Lower Bolt (1) - Install and tighten42 N.m (31 lb ft)

Intermediate Steering Shaft (2) @Steering Column - Install
Intermediate Steering Shaft Upper Bolt (1) - Install and tighten42 N.m (31 lb ft)
Instrument Panel Insulator - Left Side - Install - Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement - Left Side
