Airbag Front End Discriminating Sensor Replacement

WARNING: Refer to SIR Warning . Preliminary Procedures Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling . Remove the front compartment front sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Replacement .
1	Inflatable Restraint Front End Discriminating Sensor Assembly (Qty: 2) CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Procedure Disconnect electrical connector. Loosen the bolts and slide the sensor out of the keyhole slots. NOTE: Integral sensor assembly bolt uses Left Hand threads. Use counterclockwise rotation to loosen fastener at TORX® tip end. If accessing at pan head end of the fastener, use clockwise rotation to loosen bolt. Tighten 7.5 N.m (66 lb in)

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Procedure

Disconnect electrical connector.
Loosen the bolts and slide the sensor out of the keyhole slots.

NOTE:

Integral sensor assembly bolt uses Left Hand threads. Use counterclockwise rotation to loosen fastener at TORX® tip end. If accessing at pan head end of the fastener, use clockwise rotation to loosen bolt.

Tighten
7.5 N.m (66 lb in)
