Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments

THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS), ADJUST

1. Remove air cleaner, then disconnect electrical connector from TPS.
2. Connect 3 jumper wires between TPS electrical connector and TPS, Fig. 8.
3. With ignition on and engine off, measure voltage between sensor terminals A and B, Fig. 8, using a digital voltmeter.
4. In the closed throttle position, voltmeter should read .450-.600 volts.
5. Rotate TPS as necessary to bring voltage within specifications. Tighten screws and recheck voltage.
6. Turn ignition off and remove jumper wires.
