Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

V6-173/2.8L Engines

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove sensor attaching bolts, then separate sensor from engine.
4. Inspect crankshaft sensor O-ring for wear, cracks, or leakage and replace as necessary. Apply engine oil to new O-ring prior to installation.
5. Reverse procedure to install.
6. Torque sensor attaching bolt to 88 lb in
