Chart C2C - Stepped Speed Control (SSC) P/S Circuit

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.

1. This test checks that the Stepped Speed Control (SSC) is activated on tight turns and during parking to keep engine from stalling.
2. Diaphragm should retract after 10 seconds. Disconnecting fast idle solenoid relay will check if timer or power steering circuit is at fault.
3. This test checks wiring and power steering cut-out switch for an open circuit.
4. This test checks power steering cut-out switch.
5. This is a functional test for power steering to activate system.
6. This test checks for shorted wire to power steering switch.
7. This test checks for 12 volts at fast idle relay.
8. This will by-pass relay so diaphragm operation can be checked.
9. This test checks wire between relay and fast idle solenoid.
