Oil Filter: Service and Repair
OIL FILTERREMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Raise car and support.
2. Oil pan drain plug.
3. Drain oil.
4. Slowly turn filter to begin removal and pull downward.
5. Filter with pliers at tab.
6. 0-ring, if stuck to housing.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Coat 0-ring and grommet with clean engine oil.
2. Press fit filter into housing BY HAND.
3. Coat oil pan drain plug gasket with clean engine oil.
4. Oil pan drain plug.
^ Tighten 1/4 turn after gasket contact.
5. Oil filter access plug.
6. Engine oil.
INSPECT
^ For leaks.
^ Proper oil level.
