Description & Operation
Power rack and pinion steering system uses a rotary control valve to direct hydraulic fluid to either side of rack piston. Rack piston is integral with rack gear and converts hydraulic pressure to linear force. This force assists rack gear to move either left or right. Power rack and pinion steering gear consists of an input pinion gear, steering rack gear, tube housing and a rotary valve assembly.
Power steering system uses a belt-driven, vane type pump with an integral reservoir. A pressure relief valve inside the flow control valve limits pump pressure. TC series pump uses a ball bearing assembly on the drive shaft.
