Code A044 - Left Front Channel Will Not Move: Notes

This test is designed to detect bound-up ESB, a stuck motor or seized hydraulic modulator during initialization. When release is commanded during initialization, ESB should release motor, resulting in sensed current being less than commanded current (motor is spinning freely). If motor is not moving, sensed current will be equal to stalled current. Code A044 will set if EBCM detects motor cannot be moved in either direction. Code A044 will disable ABS function and turn ABS warning light on.

1. Checks if motor wire terminals are in proper connector cavities.
2. This step checks motor movement from Tech 1 commands.
3. This step compares EBCM command and motor feedback current.
4. This step checks for hydraulic modulator gear and piston movement.
5. This step verifies motor can be applied when commanded.
6. This step determines if code is caused by defective EBCM.
