Engine Cooling Fan: Operation: 3.8L

Powertrain Control Module (PCM) uses puller and pusher cooling fan relays to control puller and pusher cooling fan operation. Puller fan is located behind radiator and pusher fan is located in front of radiator.

PCM will energize puller fan when engine coolant temperature is greater than 212°F (100°C) or A/C is requested. After a 6 second delay, ECM will energize pusher fan in addition to puller fan when engine coolant temperature is greater than 226°F (108°C). If A/C head pressure is greater than 210 psi (14.8 kg/cm2 ), PCM will energize both puller and pusher fans.
