Crankshaft (3X) Sensor (3.1L)

The 3X signal is generated by a PM generator crankshaft sensor which is mounted in the side of the engine block. See CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR below. The 3X signal is passed on to the PCM and is also used by the ignition module to determine which ignition coil to fire.
