Test Description

NOTE: Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. If Codes P0135 and P0161 are also set, ignition feed circuit to heated oxygen sensors may be open. Check oxygen sensor fuse located in instrument panel fuse block. Sensor voltage should change from a bias voltage to less than .3 volt or greater than .7 volt within 48 seconds if engine coolant temperature is greater than 154°F (68°C), or within 200 seconds if engine coolant temperature is -40°F (-40°C).
  2. A contaminated sensor should be replaced and condition causing contamination repaired (silicone, lead, engine oil and coolant, etc.).
