Starter Motor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then remove bolts attaching starter motor and bracket to engine.
3. Lower starter motor and disconnect leads at solenoid.
4. Remove starter motor from vehicle. Note position of shims for installation, if used.
5. Reverse procedure to install.
