Cutlass Supreme

  1. If power door locks operate properly using door mounted switches, go to next step. If door locks do not operate properly using door mounted switches, see POWER DOOR LOCKS article.
  2. Check transmitter batteries. If battery voltage is between 3-3.5 volts, go to next step. If battery voltage is not between 3-3.5 volts, go to step 4).
  3. Reprogram all transmitters. See TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING  under PROGRAMMING PROCEDURES. Using RKE transmitter, test keyless entry system. If keyless entry system operates properly, system okay. If keyless entry system does not operate properly, go to step 5).
  4. Replace transmitter batteries. Using RKE transmitter, test keyless entry system. If keyless entry system operates properly, system okay. If keyless entry system does not operate properly, go to step 5).
  5. Program known good transmitter. See TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING  under PROGRAMMING PROCEDURES. Using RKE transmitter, test keyless entry system. If keyless entry system operates properly, system okay. If keyless entry system does not operate properly, go to step 7).
  6. Replace defective RKE transmitter. Verify system operation.
  7. Disconnect remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) Black 8-pin connector C2. Using test light, backprobe RCDLR connector terminals "F" (Black wire) and "A" (Orange wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 8). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 9).
  8. Check for poor connection at RCDLR. If okay, replace RCDLR. Verify system operation.
  9. Using test light, backprobe between ground and RCDLR connector terminal "A" (Orange wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 10). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 11).
  10. Repair poor connection or open in Black wire between RCDLR and ground. Verify system operation.
  11. Repair poor connection or open in Orange wire between RCDLR and ground. Verify system operation.
