Preliminary Checks

  1. Inspect ALARM, INT LAMP and INST LPS fuses. Check for poor terminal contacts at components and associated harness connectors. Check for broken (or partially broken) wire inside of insulation which could cause system failure but pass a continuity/voltage check. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Ensure aftermarket components are installed properly.
  2. If seat belt indicator is inoperative, see ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS article. If INT LAMP fuse opens continuously, disconnect MAM connector C2 and check for short to ground in Orange wire and Orange/Black wire circuits. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If circuits are okay, replace MAM. See MULTIFUNCTION ALARM MODULE (MAM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
