Cruise Control Systems: Description
WARNING:
Before servicing steering column or instrument panel components on vehicles with Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system, disable air bag system. See
DISABLING & ACTIVATING SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM in AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS - PRIZM article. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.
CAUTION:
If battery is disconnected, radio will go into anti-theft protection mode. Obtain radio anti-theft protection code from owner prior to servicing vehicle.
Cruise control system consists of Cruise Control Module (CCM), servo and actuator motor, associated cables, speed sensor, CRUISE ON-OFF switch, brakelight switch, Clutch Pedal Position (CPP) interrupt switch (M/T), Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch (A/T) and related wiring. The system allows vehicle to cruise at a desired speed greater than 25 MPH.
