Test 4: Left Rear Window Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe at master window switch assembly connector C1 terminal "C" (Dark Green wire). See Figure . Press left rear window switch on master window switch assembly to UP position. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  6 .
  2. Using a test light connected to battery voltage, backprobe at master window switch assembly connector C1 terminal "C" (Dark Green wire). See Figure . Press left rear window switch on master window switch assembly to DOWN position. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  6 .
  3. Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe at master window connector C1 terminal "H" (Purple wire). See Figure . Press left rear window switch on master window switch assembly to DOWN position. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  6 .
  4. Using a test light connected to battery voltage, backprobe at master window switch assembly connector C1 terminal "H" (Purple wire). See Figure . Press left rear window switch on master window switch assembly to UP position. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  6 .
  5. Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe at left rear window switch connector terminal "D" (Light Green wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Press left rear window switch on master window switch assembly to UP position. If test light illuminates, go to step  7 . If test light does not illuminate, go to step  8 .
  6. Replace master window switch assembly. See WINDOW & DOOR LOCK SWITCHES  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  7. Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe at left rear window switch connector terminal "H" (Purple wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Press left rear window switch on master window switch assembly to DOWN position. If test light illuminates, go to step  9 . If test light does not illuminate, go to step  10 .
  8. Repair open in Dark Green wire between master window switch assembly connector C1 terminal "C" and left rear window switch terminal "D". See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Recheck system operation.
  9. Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe at left rear window switch connector terminal "E" (Dark Blue wire). Press left rear window switch on master window switch assembly to UP position. If test light illuminates, go to step  11 . If test light does not illuminate, go to step  13 .
  10. Repair open in Purple wire between master window switch assembly connector C1 terminal "H" and left rear window switch terminal "H". See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Recheck system operation.
  11. Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe at left rear window switch connector terminal "A" (Brown wire). Press left rear window switch on master window switch assembly to DOWN position. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  13 .
  12. Disconnect left rear window motor connector. Connect a test light between ground and left rear window connector terminal "B" (Dark Blue wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Press left rear window switch on master window switch assembly to UP position. If test light illuminates, go to step  14 . If test light does not illuminate, go to step  15 .
  13. Replace left rear window switch. See WINDOW & DOOR LOCK SWITCHES  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  14. Connect a test light between ground and left rear window motor connector terminal "A" (Brown wire). Press left rear window switch on master window switch assembly to DOWN position. If test light illuminates, go to step  16 . If test light does not illuminate, go to step  17 .
  15. Repair open in Dark Blue wire between left rear window switch connector terminal "E" and left rear window motor connector terminal "B". See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Recheck system operation.
  16. Replace left rear window motor. See WINDOW REGULATOR/MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  17. Repair open in Brown wire between left rear window motor connector terminal "A" and left rear window switch terminal "A". See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Recheck system operation.
