Selector Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Service Precautions.





1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
2. Remove the shift lever (1). Refer to Shift Lever Replacement - On Vehicle.





3. Disconnect the four-wheel drive switch electrical connector (1) from the four-wheel drive switch (2).
4. Remove the four-wheel drive switch from the transfer case by turning counterclockwise.
5. Inspect the four-wheel drive switch 0-ring for cuts or other damage. Replace as necessary.


Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice Service Precautions.





1. Install the four-wheel drive switch into the transfer case by turning clockwise.
^ Tighten the four-wheel drive switch to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
2. Connect the four-wheel drive switch electrical connector (1) to the four-wheel drive switch (2).
3. Install the gearshift control lever. Refer to Shift Lever Replacement - On Vehicle.
4. Connect the negative (-) battery cable.
