Shift Control Cable

CAUTION: Misadjusted shift linkage could cause transaxle clutch and/or band failure.
  1. Set parking brake. Move gearshift lever to the NEUTRAL position. Loosen inner and outer lock nuts. See Fig 1. Ensure transaxle control lever is in Neutral. Tighten outer lock nut by hand until it contacts control lever.
  2. Tighten inner lock nut. Ensure transaxle operates in all gear ranges. Ensure vehicle will not move with ignition switch in LOCK position, and transaxle control lever in PARK position. Ensure correct operation in all gear selector lever positions.
