Intermediate Servo Assembly: Removal

NOTE: Tools required: Servo Cover Depressor (J-35534) and Transjel™ Transmission Assembly Lubricant (J-36850).
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
  2. Remove the 3 transaxle oil pan bolts (1). See Figure.
  3. Install the servo cover depressor. Tighten the adjustment bolt on the servo cover depressor until you can remove the snap ring from the servo cover (1). See Figure.
  4. Remove the servo cover snap ring (11). See Figure.
  5. After slowly loosening the adjustment bolt on servo cover depressor, remove the following components:
    • Servo cover (10).
    • Servo piston (7).
    • Springs (4 and 5).
    • Piston rod (1).
  6. Inspect the intermediate servo assembly.
