Retained Accessory Power
Body Control Module (BCM) will de-energize Retained Accessory Power (RAP) battery supply circuit for courtesy lighting after about 9-11 minutes from time ignition switch is turned to LOCK position. RAP feature is also mileage-sensitive. When vehicle is driven less than 15 miles, lighting is disabled in 2-3 minutes. BCM restores power to RAP circuits when one of the following actions occur:
- Ignition switch is turned from LOCK position to ACC or RUN position.
- Key is removed from ignition switch.
- Opening any door.
- Turning instrument panel dimmer switch to DOME position.
- Interior courtesy lighting or roof rail reading light is turned on.
- BCM receives a message from Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) module for Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) requests (BCM type 3 or 4).
- Locking or unlocking a door using a key (BCM type 4).
