Checking Fluid Levels

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Remove the transaxle oil level/filler plug (1) from the transaxle. See Fig 1 . Inspect the transaxle oil level.
  2. Ensure the oil level is even with the bottom of the transaxle oil level/filler plug hole. If the oil level is low, adjust the oil level accordingly by adding appropriate fluid. See RECOMMENDED FLUIDS  .
  3. Install the transaxle oil level/filler plug into the transaxle after applying Sealant (GM P/N 12346004), or the equivalent, in order to seal the oil level/filler plug threads. Tighten the transaxle oil level/filler plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Lower the vehicle.
