Visual/Physical Inspection
Review the system Description and Operation in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions. Inspect for aftermarket devices which could affect the operation of the steering system. Inspect the easily accessible or visible steering components for obvious damage or conditions which could cause the symptom. Verify the tires are the proper size. If the tires are not the proper size, replace the tires. Measure the tire pressure. Adjust the tire pressure if necessary. Verify the power steering fluid level is correct. Verify the power steering fluid is free from foam or contamination. Faulty electrical connections or wiring may be the cause of intermittent conditions. If problem is not found, diagnose by symptom.
