Poor Fuel Economy: Sensor/System

- Inspect for an Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor shifted in value. See TEMPERATURE VS RESISTANCE table.
- Test for proper operation of the Transmission Fluid Pressure (TFP) manual valve switch. See appropriate TRANSMISSIONS article.
- Inspect the throttle body, Throttle Position (TP) sensor, and accelerator cables for proper operation.
- Inspect the Knock Sensor (KS) for excessive spark retard.
