Refrigerant Pressure Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair

AIR CONDITIONING (A/C) REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the grill.
3. Disconnect the A/C refrigerant pressure switch electrical connector (1).
4. Remove the A/C refrigerant pressure switch from the condenser outlet line. Use a second wrench to hold the line.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the A/C refrigerant pressure switch to the condenser outlet line. Use a second wrench to hold the line.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the switch to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

2. Connect the A/C refrigerant pressure switch electrical connector (1).
3. Install the grill.
4. Evacuate and recharge the air conditioning system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
5. Operate the A/C system and inspect for refrigerant leaks. Refer to Leak Testing.
