Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Grand Am and 2004 Oldsmobile Alero. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Position the radio to the I/P.
  2. Connect the I/P wiring harness connectors and the antenna cable connector to the radio.
  3. IMPORTANT: If the radio locator tab is difficult to align to the I/P locator opening, pull the radio toward you and reposition the antenna cable.
  4. Align the radio locator tab to the I/P locator opening. Install the radio.
  5. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Install the radio screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the radio screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory (Pontiac) or Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory (Oldsmobile) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  8. Perform the radio set up procedure for new and reinstalled radios. Refer to Radio Setup .
